Christmas at Trentham
Christmas at Trentham is back and better than before! This December, the award-winning Trentham Gardens transforms into a brand-new illuminated trail designed to accentuate the flora and fauna and get the Christmas juices flowing.

Take a Trip to the Theatre!
Nothing screams Christmas quite like a trip to the theatre, right? Well, Stokies, this year is no different.
From 26th November-29th January, at the New Vic Theatre (just 5 minutes drive from Smithfield), Beauty and the Beast will be performed. Expect enchanting storytelling, music, humour and magical moments in abundance in Theresa Heskins’ adaption of the classic fairytale. Fancy more of an immersive theatrical experience? No problem. Running from 10th December-2nd January at Regent Theatre (a stone’s throw from Smithfield) is the spectacular family pantomime, Cinderella. As with all pantomimes, you’re in for some laugh out loud comedy, stunning scenery, beautiful costumes and plenty of booing of the bad guys! Festival of Trees
Christmas trees are a quintessential part of the festive period – when they go up, it’s a sign that Santa will be coming soon! From 10:30am-4:30pm each day between 4th December-18th December at the Heritage Visitor Centre (a short drive from Smithfield), a christmas tree festival celebrates what helps make christmas the most wonderful time of the year!
The festival’s display of colour themed Christmas trees of all shapes and sizes is a really amazing spectacle. Sip on tea, coffee and mulled wine and snack on mince pies as you walk around gazing at the beauty of the trees and their surrounding festive pottery treats. No booking required for this one, just turn up and enjoy!
