Let’s be honest: nothing quite beats that first sip of your favourite tipple after a busy week. Whatever your favourite, these moments are simply delightful… but here, cocktails are taking centre stage.
Cocktails are great because they come in such an array of styles and flavours. Whether you enjoy an elegant espresso martini, a classic cosmopolitan or even a non-alcoholic option, there really is a cocktail for everyone.
We’re spoilt for choice when it comes to cocktail bars in Stoke-on-Trent. Luckily for Smithfield tenants and Clayworks residents, our prime location in the Cultural Quarter means that we’re only a stone’s throw from some of the best cocktail spots in the city!
Here’s our top 5, perfect for a post-work visit.
A floral haven offering the finest cocktails, Bloom is one of the most beautiful bars in Stoke.
Their cocktail menu is nothing short of divine. From your classics and martinis to their creative ‘gincredibles’ and powerful ‘showstoppers’, Bloom has everything you could need. There is also a selection of non-alcoholic alternatives with a stunning mocktail list available.
Not only do they offer an incredible range of cocktails, but Bloom also serves fantastic food and has live music throughout the week. Get yourself down for a delightful evening.

The Quarter Café
The Quarter Café is a family run spot that has been a hit with locals since opening its doors in 2016.
A café by day and a quirky bistro/bar with live entertainment by night, the Quarter Café covers all bases. Their drinks menu boasts an exceptional selection of premium cocktails- enjoy a classic Daiquiri or why not take a trip to Havana with the Cuba Libra?
If you’re keen for a wholesome evening sipping away in a warm setting, then cocktails at the Quarter Café are perfect for you.

Only opening in May 2021, Captain’s Bar is one of Stoke’s newest cocktail bars and offers customers ‘a taste of the tropics’.
Many people associate cocktails with sitting on a white sand beach surrounded by palm trees. Unfortunately, the UK is a far fetch from this but the crew at Captain’s Bar are doing their best to help you visualise yourself there!
Their cocktail menu is short but sweet. Why not tackle the tiki classic, Mai Tai, or go overboard with the Zombie (not for the faint-hearted)?
With their cocktails, live music and bright décor, Captain’s Bar is the place to go for some tropical escapism!

The Gin Rummy
Another new addition to Hanley’s Cultural Quarter, The Gin Rummy is a Gin and Rum bar that brings you cocktails with a twist.
Sure, they offer two classics: the Mojito and Pina Colada… but all of their other cocktails are their own concoctions.
Get magical with the Unicorn, go big with the Cherry Bakewell, have a storm with the Tropical Hurricane or feel your cool side with the Jamaican Breeze.
Creativity is at the heart of the Gin Rummy, what’s not to love?

Where else to finish than Smithfield’s very own, Restaurant Six?
Located at the Hilton Garden Inn in the Smithfield area, Restaurant Six is the place to go for sumptuous food and classy cocktails in a contemporary setting.
Named after the 6 towns that make up Stoke-on-Trent, Restaurant Six is an establishment rooted in Stoke heritage. This theme runs through to their cocktail menu in which the ‘Six Towns Cocktails’ are named after Stoke’s 6 towns – our personal favourite is Hanley’s Hawaiian Hooch!
Enjoy Restaurant Six’s carefully crafted cocktails with a delicious meal, this one’s certainly with a try.
