The February half-term is fast approaching and  we know it can be difficult to keep the kids entertained 24/7! 

To make things a little easier, we’ve put together a list of February half-term activities in and around the Smithfield area that you can enjoy with your little ones.

A Day At The Park 

Home to a plethora of parks and open green spaces, Stoke-on-Trent is one of the greenest cities in the UK… So why not put this to use this February half term?

Take the family to the stunning Biddulph Grange Garden where you will be amazed by their trees and plants sourced from around the globe. This quirky, playful paradise is also home to hidden interlinking world themed gardens, such as a Chinese garden and Egyptian pyramid. 

Biddulph Grange Garden also has a find and seek trail which allows you and the family to become explorers and search the gardens for 9 important features. With all this and two tearooms, Biddulph Grange Gardens has everything for a brilliant family day out!

A different option for you is the Dorothy Clive Garden with its various landscape features, including a woodland garden and a picturesque waterfall. Enjoy a blissful stroll through the gardens where an abundance of beautiful flora and fauna creates an intimate, tranquil setting. It is a real countryside gem and if you take the family, you can explore together and get some fresh air before relaxing in the tearoom.

Adventure Galore

Some children need more than a walk in the park to burn their energy. Thankfully for parents in Stoke, there are many different adventure days out across the region providing exhilarating activities!

Just a stone’s throw from Smithfield is the Ninja Warrior UK Adventure Park. Motion Picture Magic

There’s nothing quite like seeing the awe in your children’s faces as they watch their favourite characters on the big screen. The magic of the cinema is undisputed. Fortunately, at Smithfield we have the Cineworld Cinema at the Intu Potteries Centre right on our doorstep. Not only that, but only minutes away you will also find Stoke’s Odeon Cinema

With two wonderful cinemas to pick from, why not take the children this half term to escape into a world of fantasy? Both cinemas offer junior only viewings for those families with younger kids, which is perfect for those who might struggle to keep the noise down for an entire film. A cinema trip simply has to be included in your February half term itinerary… especially when it’s so cold outside!
