With Halloween on the horizon, you may be searching for inspiration for days out to keep the kids entertained this October half-term. We’ve rounded up some of the best activities in and around Stoke-On-Trent, for all the family to enjoy.this spooky season.

GANDEYS CIRCUS – TRENTHAM

Starting out with a bang, Gandeys Circus returns for 2022 with their action-packed Halloween ‘Spooktacular’ Big Top Show. This legendary performance features a specially selected international cast of vampires, skeletons, Jack o’lanterns and Circus Artistes, and will be sure to keep you on the edge of your seat this half-term holiday. MIDDLEPORT POTTERY – BURSLEM

For something a little less spooky, Middleport Pottery in Burslem, the Mother Town of Potteries, offers a chance to see Burleigh pottery being made using the same traditional methods as in the 1880s. The tour will lead you through each stage of production, showing how a lump of clay can be uniquely transformed into a finished piece of pottery. This award-winning visitor destination situated on the Trent and Mersey Canal in Stoke-On-Trent is perfect for those wanting a more relaxed day out, and the nearby canal is perfect for a crisp Autumn walk.

HALLOWEEN AT TRENTHAM GARDENS

Home to award-winning gardens, ancient Woodland and a unique outdoor shopping village, enchanting experiences await all the family at Trentham Gardens. Why not pick a pumpkin from brand new patch in the heart of the Italian Gardens? Tickets for their Halloween spooktacular experience includes magical wand and broomstick making, pumpkin colouring in the design studio, photo-op moments and a spooky fancy dress competition, not to mention seasonal food and drink available throughout. Running from October 14th-31st, tickets are available now.

MONKEY FOREST – TRENTHAM

This October half-term, walk amongst 140 free-ranging endangered monkeys living as they would in the wild in the ancient Staffordshire forest. A fantastic day out all year-round, Monkey Forest offers a mile-long woodland walk amongst the monkeys, with knowledgeable guides situated throughout the forest to provide information during your visit. With hourly feeding talks, adventure play areas, Jungle Shop and Banana Café, there’s more than enough to keep the family entertained.

NATIONAL FOREST ADVENTURE FARM – BURTON-UPON-TRENT

While just under an hour’s drive from Stoke, the National Forest Adventure Farm in Burton-Upon-Trent is sure to deliver an action-packed day out. Book now to experience their Halloween spooktacular this October, with pumpkin-picking, a magical maize quest, marvellous magic show, frightening face paint and much more. Though not included in the ticket price, fairground rides will also be available throughout the Halloween season for added festive thrills.
