Smithfield were delighted to be part of the public Spitfire Day which took place at Hanley Park.
The Lord Mayor of Stoke-on-Trent Cllr Joan Bell, cut the ribbon for the park’s new Spitfire bedding display, which has been made possible following support from RTC Medical Solutions Ltd, Smithfield, Stoke and Friends of Hanley Park.
Adele Simmons, Community Manager at Smithfield, attended the open day and said: “Supporting Spitfire Day and being one of the sponsors of the new Spitfire bedding display at Hanley Park was great.
“It was good to see so many people at the unveiling and to be a part of the event which celebrated the 90th anniversary of the Spitfire’s first flight yesterday.”
Throughout the event live music, military displays and storytelling took place.
